John Mayne (1759–1836)

Mayne, John. A Scottish poet; born at Dumfries, 1759; died in 1836. He was editor of the London Star. Among his publications are: ‘The Siller Gun’ (new ed. Edinburgh, 1836); and ‘Glasgow’ (1803), a descriptive poem.
