Gozlan, Léon (goz-lo
‘). A French novelist; born in Marseilles, Sept. 1, 1803; died at Paris, Sept. 14, 1866. From clerk in a Paris bookstore he became a writer for Figaro, and then produced novels; sometimes socialistic and ironic. ‘The Notary of Chantilly,’ ‘A Millionaire’s Most Beautiful Dream,’ and ‘The Lambert Family,’ deserve special mention.
