Pedro Carlos d’Alcantara Chaves (1829–1893)
Chaves, Pedro Carlos d’Alcantara (äl-kan’tä-rä chä’ves). A Portuguese dramatist; born in Lisbon in 1829. Among his best-known works are: ‘Garibaldi’ and ‘Sin and Forgiveness.’ He has also published a volume of lyric poetry.
