Cheney, Theseus Apoleon. An American historian; born in Leon, NY, March 16, 1830; died in Starkey, NY, Aug. 2, 1878. His publications include: ‘Historical Sketch of the Chemung Valley’ (1866); ‘Historical Sketch of Eighteen Counties of Central and Southern New York’ (1868); ‘Laron’; ‘Relations of Government to Science’; and ‘Antiquarian Researches.’
