Cooney, referred to as A Story of Macbeth, is meant to go hand in hand with the well known historical work of literary merit titled Macbeth by William Shakespeare. Although Cooney’s tale may be intended to interest the reader and provide a sensible piece of reading material, it doesn’t. In fact it does just the opposite. The similarity of the original piece of work mixed with the numerous new characters enhances nothing except for the disinterest in both stories
