Fossils are the remains or traces of the dead organisms. Fossils are mainly found in the rocks and are formed due to bones, shells, hard body parts, or the body structure that cannot decay or decompose easily.
Explanation of Solution
Carbon dating, also termed as carbon-14 dating is a way by which scientists determine the age of the object that contains the organic material. Here, properties of radioisotope of carbon (radiocarbon) are used. Carbon dating quantify the amount of carbon-14 in the fossil and then comparing the same with the international standard references.
