Concept explainers
To analyze:
To analyze the two circuits of the cardiovascular system.
Introduction:
The cardiovascular system includes heart, arteries, veins which help to circulate blood throughout the body. The heart is a special organ in the body that helps to transport not only blood but also nutrients and gaseous throughout the body for development.
Explanation of Solution
The cardiovascular system related to the heart circulatory system includes two circulatory systems.
1). Pulmonary circulation
2). Systematic circulation
In pulmonary circulation, the right atrium and right ventricles consist of oxygen-poor and carbon dioxide-rich blood which pumps to the lungs. So that lungs can filter deoxygenated blood. Lungs receive oxygen and eliminate carbon dioxide and pass to the left atrium of the heart. Now oxygenated blood present in the left atrium.
In systematic circulation, the oxygen-poor blood pumped through the right side of the blood to the lungs. Here it receives oxygen and gets back to the heart. The carbon dioxide-rich blood reached to lungs filter and oxygen is added which transfers to the left atrium then that blood transfer to the rest of the body which carries lots of oxygen. It delivers nutrients, oxygen and removes toxic waste material.
Pulmonary circulation and systematic circulation both together form a cardiovascular system that helps to distribute oxygen, nutrients to every cell present in the body.
