The difference between epidermis and dermis.
Introduction:
The epidermis is a thin layer of the skin present at the outermost surface that protects the body.
It is dependent on the second layer dermis which is present underneath it and helps in providing the nutrients to the skin and disposal of waste.
Explanation of Solution
Epidermis is the layer of skin present at the outermost surface that works as a barrier in protecting our skin and also forms the color of the skin (Skin Tone).
The dermis is present at the base level of the membrane that contains two tough layers of connective tissue called the papillary and reticular layers. It also contains hair follicles and sweat glands. The hypodermis layer is made of fat and connective tissue.
Epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin, whereas dermis is present beneath this top layer of skin.
