Alphabetic Telephone Number Translator
Many companies use telephone numbers like 555-GET-FOOD so the number is easier for their customers to remember. On a standard telephone, the alphabetic letters are mapped to numbers in the following fashion:
A, B, and C = 2
D. E, and F = 3
G, H, and I = 4
J, K, and L = 5
M, N, and O = 6
P. Q, R. and S = 7
T, U, and V = 8
W, X, Y, and Z = 9

- Microwaves / Radio Waves If a scientist knows the wavelength of an electromagnetic wave she can determine what type of radiation it is. Write a program that asks for the wavelength in meters of an electromagnetic wave and then displays what that wave is according to the following chart. (For example, a wave with a wavelength of 1E-10 meters would be an X-ray.) 1x 10-11 1 x 10-8 4 x 10-7 7x 10-7 1x 10-3 1 x 10-2 Gamma Rays. The program must display a multiplication table with results using these values. For example, if the user enters a start value of 3, a stop value of 7 and a multiplier value of 3, the table should be displayed as follows: Multiplication Table 3 x 3 = 9 3 x 4 = 12 3 x 5 = 15 3 x 6 = 18 3 x 7 = 21 additionally Each multiplication problem must be displayed with a problem number. The program must prompt the user to enter an answer to each of the multiplication problems. The correct answer should be displayed after the user enters an answer. A message should be displayed informing the user that the answer entered was correct or incorrect followed by an appropriate motivating comment. A running record of the number of correct and incorrect responses must be kept. After all the problems have been presented the user must be informed of…arrow_forwardCredit Card Number Check. The last digit of a credit card number is the check digit, which protects against transcription errors such as an error in a single digit or switching two digits. The following method is used to verify actual credit card numbers but, for simplicity, we will describe it for numbers with 8 digits instead of 16:• Starting from the rightmost digit, form the sum of every other digit. For example, if thecredit card number is 4358 9795, then you form the sum 5 + 7 + 8 + 3 = 23.• Double each of the digits that were not included in the preceding step. Add all digits ofthe resulting numbers. For example, with the number given above, doubling the digits, starting with the next-to-last one, yields 18 18 10 8. Adding all digits in these valuesyields 1 + 8 + 1 + 8 + 1 + 0 + 8 = 27.• Add the sums of the two preceding steps. If the last digit of the result is 0, the number isvalid. In our case, 23 + 27 = 50, so the number is valid.Write a program that implements this…arrow_forward

The president has asked you to program the new system. You are to write a program to assign seats on each flight of the airline's only plane (capacity: 10 seats). Your program should display the following menu of alternatives: Please type 1 for "first class" Please type 2 for "economy" If the person types 1, then your program should assign a seat in the first class section (seats 1-5). If the person types 2, then your program should assign a seat in the economy section (seats 6-10). Your program should then print a boarding pass indicating the person's seat number and whether it is in the first class or economy section of the plane. Use a single-subscripted array to represent the seating chart of the plane. Initialize all the elements of the array to 0 to indicate that all seats are empty. As each seat is assigned, set the corresponding elements of…arrow_forwardDiscrete Mathematics: Assignment details: Replace all the 0 (Zero) digits in your ID by 4. The nth triangle number is the number of dots or balls in a triangle with n dots on a side; it is the sum of the n natural numbers from 1 to n. • The formula for the nth triangular number can be expressed as: ?? = ∑ ? ? ?=1 = 1 + 2 + 3 + ⋯ + ? = ?(? + 1) 2 = ( ? + 1 2 ) • The first few triangular numbers are: 0, 1, 3, 6, 10, 15, …… • Pictorially, the triangular numbers can be represented as below: Write a program that generates the triangular number series from the first term up until the n th term. In your program, the user will enter the n number, choose a large number! The sequence should be printed in the correct order. If you know the number of fat grams in a particular food, you can use the following formula to calculate the number of calories that come from fat in that food: Calories from fat = Fat grams × 9 If you know the food’s total calories, you can use the following formula to calculate the percentage of calories from fat: Percentage of calories from fat = Calories from fat ÷ Total calories Create an application that allows the user to enter: • The total number of calories for a food item • The number of fat grams in that food item The application should calculate and display: • The number of calories from fat • The percentage of calories that come from fat Also, the application’s form should have a CheckBox that the user can check if he or she wants to know whether the food is considered low fat. (If the calories from fat are less than 30% of the total calories of the food, the food is considered low fat.) Use the following test data…arrow_forward

Each row is referred to by number (1 or 2) and each seat in the row is referred to by letter (A, B, C, D, and E). When started, the program should ask the user for the row they prefer (row selection). If that row has no empty seats then the program should ask the user if they prefer the other row, if no then display a message stating the next show is tomorrow. Upon selecting a row, the program should present the user with a choice of available seats in the row. The user can then either choose a seat and print the ticket (in this case a simple message will suffice) or return to row selection. If a ticket is printed the program should return to row selection.
