2.3 Assignment Danny Goldberg argues in "The Government Should Not Restrict Media Marketed to Children” that FTC regulation on media is affecting the entertainment industry’s profits on production of violent media content. The specific bill introduced is the Media Marketing Accountability Act of 2001. He believes that there should not be a restriction placed on marketing media to children. Goldberg posits that FTC regulation is a “radical bill” that takes away the power of parents to determine what is appropriate for their children (Goldberg). An additional point the author makes is that many of the restricted media, specifically rap music, is produced by African Americans; therefore, there is a culture bias on these restrictions. Thirdly, Goldberg states that limiting marketing on media to children, specifically …show more content…
He states that that these solutions could be possibly be in the form of new regulations. Hatch believes that media can be used to promote goodness in the world, and that violent media does just the opposite. He goes on to explain that research has shown a correlation between use of violent media in children and real life aggressive or violent behavior. Additionally, Hatch states that although research supports this correlation, there is still violent media being marketed to children. He more specifically uses video games and music as examples. He supports these points referring to a study conducted by the National Institute on Media and the Family which showed that some violent video games are marketed directly to children (Hatch). A concern of the opposition is that additional screening or regulations on media would interfere with constitutional rights. Hatch counters that this is not the case when it concerns

The Catering Services industry has struggled during the past five years. Since 2008-09, a severe economic downturn has led businesses and households to spend less on catered events. Businesses faced with plunging profitability cut back sharply on catered events such as office parties, corporate seminars and product launches, and reduced average spend per head for events that did go ahead. The deteriorating consumer climate led consumers to put off discretionary events and choose to cater events themselves or spend less at a restaurant rather than use the industry 's services.

Violent Media is Good for Kids, by Gerald Jones; a persuasive article written by a comic book author that analyzes how exposing children to violent media has positive effects in shaping a person. This article was written as a counter-argument to the negative response media received after a horrific mass shooting that took place at a high school. Jones defends violent media by telling of his own personal experience with it, thus glorifying it in the process. Jones argues in his article that violent media is a helpful resource for children and it does not necessarily harm them. Jones’ argument was effective and very convincing. He defends his stance by continuously stating the positives that violent media has had not only on him, but his own son as well.

1. In order for the education system to change and be multiracial there are different sections where you need to work from. Starting from the curriculum structure subjects such as science and math should recognize inventors who created science and math theories. When it comes to english and history; english should allow teachers to pick their authors and subjects that they think their students will be able to enjoy while learning the standards needed for that grade. “…Educators must have knowledge of children’s live outside of school so as to recognize their strengths” (Delpit, 242). As a minority my self having teachers who gave us the options to read books where we could relate to the characters and story lines it was easier for us to actually

Stu, I do not believe that a high substrate (PTFE fabric 7069) will impact the users of our premium “P” tape product, it may even enhance the life span. Airtech would be the only one I would question, but would probably risk a small order first before fulfilling any large quantity order for them, unless we have an Airtech spec in place for this item that would hinder the use of 6this item. Have we compared prior runs of this item sold to Airtech? Just my thoughts. Or release it for Taconic Canada, Can-Do, Nott Company, and Tapes and Technical only.

Rick , your post is very productive. We need also start asking the stakeholders regarding the network side which will feed the database also. Security should be a very important issue since most database deal with PI's and other sensitive information. Also, the kind of encryption the stakeholder will use is important. SSL and IPSEC could be great help to secure payments transactions with cards. I absolutely agree with your concern of the use of excel datasheet old solution which is obsoltete and is counterproductive.
