As a recipient of the Burger King Scholars award, I am extremely thankful and know it has made my family incredibly proud of my hard work. With this scholarship, I will be able to help my parents pay for my college expenses since I rely on financial aid to help fund my education. I intend to use this money to pay for my books and anything else my financial aid will not cover. I plan to attend California State University, Long Beach this fall and hope to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Volunteering in my community throughout high school has allowed me to meet and help many different people and made me realize how important it is to give back to my community. This has inspired me to continue my education and to open my very own medical clinic
I wanted to give back to the community that has given to me. Even though being a student athlete significantly shaped my day, I have a passion of helping others. Admittedly, it was difficult to allot time into my schedule, but I knew I had to find a way and I did. I took part in volunteering at a nursing home and worked specifically with patients that had dementia. Each week I would spend most of my time interacting with patients. I was able to talk to veterans, scholars, pastors, and scientist. I sat with them as they fought through confusion and agitation while trying to recount previous years. It was in the nursing home that I learned my attraction to healthcare was not limited to sciences. My commitment to medicine was also fueled by my passion to guide patients to be strong through an illness by instilling
After graduating Anacortes High school I plan on attending a four year private liberal arts university. I will be pursing a Bachelors of Science in Nursing leading to a career as a Registered Nurse. My main interest is a specialty in pediatrics. Following a month stay at Children's Hospital after enduring emergency surgery and a difficult recovery I decided nursing is what I'm meant to do. The nurses inspired me, and I hope that I can help a family and child in the same way that they helped
Going to school is essential to my goal of being able to do something beneficial with my degree in nursing. When I become a nurse I want to volunteer overseas and at home. At my college, UCF, there are many opportunities to volunteer across the world and I cannot wait
Nursing will allow me to give back to my community by working at local hospitals or schools. After about five years or so I plan to take my knowledge and experience worldwide by delivering care to underserved nations worldwide. Nursing will be challenging. But my struggles will be nothing compared to those that I'll be helping. The benefits outweigh the
I want to major in Psychology at CSU Stanislaus. I plan to pursue a Bachelor's than afterward a Master's degree. My dream job is to become a Councilor. I want to make an impact on people as I move through life. I want to make a difference. Community Service to me is the selfless act to help out. Even in the smallest ways one can be making our community a better way! Just offering to help someone who seems to be struggling to put bags in their car is helping your community. I want to live and be in a community where people care about one another. I try personally to be part of the movement for a community that cares for one another. I like to do simple acts as the one given as a example above. I also volunteered at a local retirement home originally
I have always believed in giving back to the community and in sharing my competencies and skills with others. My desire to help people in the field of nursing has powered my decision to take up a graduate degree in Nursing. Overcoming the many challenges in my life has helped me to believe that I can reach any goal I have set for myself, and one of these lifelong goals is to become a nurse practitioner and to obtain
Recently a graduate from Maryville University with a major in nursing and a minor in psychology. I can see myself planning a family and the rest of my life. My dream job at Cardinal Glennon is a nurse who works in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. While working as a nurse I wish to gain a few years of experience and then later on applying to a Nurse Practitioner program or a Nurse Midwifery program. After completing those programs I plan on starting a family and laying out the plan for the rest of my nursing career and life.
I grew up in an impoverished community with a lack of an educational culture. As I faced academic and financial obstacles, I realized how important education is. I am the first person in my family to pursue a higher education at a four year university. After graduating high school in June of 2016, I aspire to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and specialize in pediatrics.
I see myself working as a Licensed Practical Nurse and transitioning to a Registered Nurse. I have had experience doing community service at the Claiborne County Senior Care Nursing Home and Claiborne County Medical Center through the Claiborne County Technical Center completing a high school course in vocational education in the field of Health Science II. My biggest challenges transitioning from high school to college will be having good study habits, paying close attention to what is being taught in class, taking good notes and utilizing free time to study. College will be different than High School but I am confident I will succeed in my future endeavors because I can do anything when I put my mind to it this is what I had to do all through school. Eventually I will be on my own so I need to have a good education so that I can support myself even though my mother will help me. I think college is an awesome opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and meet new people. Therefore, I need to make sure that I surround myself with good friends whom I can trust to bring out the best in me and I will have my twin sister by my side to help keep me on track. College is not cheap so to be considered for a scholarship will mean so much to me and my
Everyone in my family has attended college and has done something with their lives and I plan on continuing the cycle. In the fall of 2017 I will be attending Sam Houston State University. My major will be kinesiology because sports has always been a part of my life and I couldn’t imagine myself going through life without doing something related to sports.
Once I obtain a higher education during my college studies, I will be bound with responsibilities. I must use my newfound knowledge to my full potential by applying it to my life and those who are surrounding me. I will pursue my duty to society by giving back to my community and those in need because I am apparent of the struggles in a rural area. I am attending the University of Arkansas and majoring in Biology. Once I complete my courses and graduate I will apply for medical school at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas then continue my studies to specialize in oncology.
I am a nursing student. I have a great passion for caring for others. My short term goals are to graduate Riverland Community College with my Associate's Degree in Nursing this December. I plan to work very hard and prepare to take my nursing licensure exam at the beginning of next year to become licensed as a registered nurse. I will then transfer to Metropolitan State University to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
I am a compassionate person, and I truly enjoy providing care to others. My goal is to further my education in order to get a degree in Nursing, work as a Registered Nurse. Being a Registered Nurse is a wonderful career choice with amazing responsibilities. While I worked
I believe I am worthy of the honorable Town of Sheboygan Lions Club Scholarship, due to the fact that I uphold the same philosophy of WE SERVE and above all, I understand the value of higher education. Additionally, I deserve this scholarship as a result of my previous achievements which indicate my future success in education. Further, I am persistent, greatly wishing to help others achieve their goals as a friend and peer. I know I demonstrate the drive and values our community searches for. On a similar note, the funds will not simply be supporting my degree. If I receive the scholarship, the funds will be going to support my education in a facility in which I will be supporting others through my leadership roles. Specifically, as I continue
My name is Carmen Clipner. I am a junior attending Ohio University Zanesville. I am studying to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. I am going on thirty and I was in school before for with this same career choice, but I decided at that time that I was not sure that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life so I dropped out. Now I’m for sure this is what I’m meant to do and it has been a long journey and is going to be well worth it in the end. I want to help people and be a part of saving people’s lives and feel like I made a difference in my lifetime and that my time was well spent and meaningful. My goal
