The carbon dioxide levels in the 20th century have been highest in 650,000 years. Till 1950, the levels rose by 11% and recently the levels have risen by 40%. Arctic ice is melting rapidly. It is estimated that by 2040 the region is to have a completely ice free summer, or even earlier. More than 1 million species have become extinct due to disappearing habitats caused due to global warming. Sea levels have risen about 7 inches in the last 100 years, which is more than the previous 2000 years combined. The rising sea levels due to global warming could threaten the lives of people living along the coastal areas. Rising temperatures are causing melting glaciers, which cause rising oceans. Rising oceans will envelop entire coastal cities, killing or displacing millions of people. Our food sources will dwindle; entire species of animals will become extinct as we destroy their homes to rebuild; and as our population skyrockets, an unimaginable number of humans will be left homeless, starving, and sick.

The Earth’s temperature has been rising over the years. Sail Bhattacharya a professor & head of a medical college claims that over the last 8000 years, Earth’s surface temperature raised by 1 degree Celsius only (1). He also said, at the present rate of global temperature would rise by 2.5 degrees Celsius by 2050” (1). It’s a fact that the earth has gotten warmer over the years. At this moment the temperature hasn't raised much, only 1 degree Celsius. It may seem like it’s not a big deal, but it actually is, because the rising temperature rate is increasing as time passes according to Sail Bhattacharya (1). The temperature rising might not cause much harm now, but can badly affect us or whoever is living on Earth in the future.

The earth as we know it is steadily changing. Weather its evolution, technology, weather or our environment, nothings is what it used to be. Climate is a major factor that is changing. This has been going on for quite some time yet, not taken seriously. Our planet has been much warmer in the past 2 centuries then ever before and scientist are working frantically to reduce this trend,

In this 21-century climate change is becoming worse and worse. There is water levels are rising, animals in cold areas are starting to die because of the rises temperatures, and humans' health is being at risk, why because of human activities. The activities that humans mostly do is burning fossil fuels and deforestation.

If the threat of animal extinction is not enough to encourage humans to step in and defuse the climate bomb we are setting, maybe the current natural disasters will help. However, change in climate is not the only side effect of global warming there is: draught, wild fires, heavy rains, floods, and hurricanes have been linked to global warming. "Not only are the oceans and atmosphere conspiring against us… but the crust beneath our feet seems likely to join in too," said Professor Bill McGuire (McKie). Earthquakes have been occurring recently, violently and simultaneously of each other, some so great they have caused tsunamis. The goals of governments and independent contributors are to educate its citizens on global warming and how our earth is being destroyed slowly because of human pollution.

The Federal government's plan to meet its stated INDC is the right approach for Canada to address climate change. Climate change is a worldwide issue affecting everyone on this planet and is irreversible (Guarino, 2017) because of its consequences like the increase in natural disasters (Weather-related 2017). In a scientific perspective, climate change does not only affect people but also the surrounding environment including biotic and abiotic factors. Climate change impacts all regions around the world and 82% of 94 ecological systems are affected by climate change (Scheffers, 2016)." Consequently, this dramatic change can alter the Earth’s major systems.

Climate change is expanding worse and more dangerous each hour. Shocking facts are arising about climate change. What is more startling is how humans have been causing it, and it may affect us. For centuries, we as a human race have been completely belligerent to the signs staring us right in the face. If the damage is not repaired or progress slowed, consequences will be paid. The dangers of global warming are threatening wildlife and humans with conditions like rising sea level.

Global climate change has already had observable effects on the environment. Glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and the lakes are breaking up. Earlier plant and animal ranges have shifted and trees are flowering sooner. Effects that scientists had predicted in the past and would result from global climate change, are now occurring. There is a loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer more intense heat waves.(3) Each of the past 37 years has been warmer than the 20th century average. The twelve warmest years on record have all occurred since 1998. The hottest year ever recorded for the contiguous United States occurred in 2012. Globally, the average surface temperature has increased more than one degree Fahrenheit since the late 1800’s. Most of that increase has occurred over just the past three decades. We live in a world where the actions of one person can affect the whole globe. Climate change is easily one of the most debatable topics at this time. Is it really debatable though? Is there proof that we are seeing a change in the Earth’s temperature? According to many scientist, global warming is a serious problem. In fact, the increase in temperature is causing glaciers to melt which can cause heavy flooding.

The major threat of today’s world is global warming. Due to various reasons global warming turns out to be a serious issue in the last few years. Today people believe in global warming while this concept was not so much believed and people interpreted in some other meanings what was happening in the past. Global warming is amplification in the temperature of earth because of industrial pollution, fossil fuels, and agricultural practices caused by human being, other and natural gas emissions. Global warming is defined as the global increase in the temperature of the earth’s atmosphere. According to NASA, January 2016 was the hottest January as it was 1.13 degrees Celsius above the 1951-1980 average (Erdman, 2016). Humans participate in increasing the concentration of carbon dioxide, methane and other greenhouse gases that act like a blanket that traps the heat. And this appear from the combustion of fossil fuel and the different industries which release a large amount of CO2. Moreover, cutting millions of trees to provide there different needs such as: papers and furniture. In fact, trees play a critical role in decreasing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere through using it in the photosynthesis process. As reported by Union of Concerned Scientists that CO2 today are 25% higher than in 1957. Due to the releasing of CO2 and chlorofluorocarbons to the atmosphere that lead to ozone layer depletion, more sunlight is passing to the earth surface. In addition, the natural disaster has the role in rising the temperature, for example: volcanoes. This essay will state the scientific problems of climate change and how it threatens the life of organisms. Also, it will suggest solutions for this problem.

Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit around the world since 1880, due to global warming. Global warming is caused by various factors that include greenhouse gases getting trapped in the atmosphere, pollution of land and ocean, and large amounts of deforestation. Scientists have proven that the causes of extreme weather, glaciers melting, and the extinction of many species, including keystone species, directly correlates from global warming. Humans can prevent the further progression of global warming by utilizing the already available tools, such as things like solar panels and electric cars, or they can figure out ways to reduce wastes more efficiently. If the global warming epidemic is not taken seriously, then the fate of the Earth and all who inhabit it will be in danger.

Through the eyes of most scientists, global warming is seen as a very serious and severe threat. The actions taken by humans, such as industry and consumption of fossil fuels plus the increase in population and agriculture have played a big part in global warming. If something is not done soon the results could be very bad.
