I take a holistic view when considering a child’s early education. I believe we must contemplate every aspect, from the artistic and physical to the social and academic. Doing so ensures that these crucial early years set the stage for a child’s love of learning and future well-being. Thus, the voices of teachers, administrators and parents should all be heard as we share the responsibility for creating the type of community environment that supports and cultivates the development of a balanced child.
A well designed and executed curriculum should provide our young students with a variety of meaningful opportunities to play, learn, and interact with each other, their community, and the environment. Discovering for themselves, and being creators, opens the world to them in ways that are personal and lasting. Exposure to different cultures and languages is also paramount to a child’s healthy outlook on the world as well as their respect for others. Therefore, when children play and work together in a diverse environment, they begin to appreciate the beauty and strength of our differences.

Education has been an important part of my life since a very young age. Growing up I have always strived to do my best in school. In my sophomore year of high school I realized how important education was to me and decided that I wanted to be a teacher. From Elementary School to College I have always been close with my teachers and professors. I still visit and talk too many of them today, this made me realize that I wanted to be that teacher for my future students.

Therefore, the language, intellectual, personality, social and moral, and aesthetic and creative development of preschool age children should be enhanced through multicultural activities and lessons.
