The American Dream The American Dream to me is starting out just average and accomplishing something huge later in life. One person who fits my definition of the American Dream is Steve Jobs. Steve built the first Apple computer in his garage so that shows he was just average when he started, it also shows he was very focused because he didn’t need a fancy place to be able to do his work he just knew what he needed to do, also his unbelievable imagination helped him be so successful, and he had an amazing ability when it came to design and develop technology. Steve Jobs embodies the American Dream because he was very determined, he had an amazing imagination, and his uncanny ability to design and develop technology. Steve Jobs didn’t start out with much compared to what he ended with, he was just average growing up. He actually made the first Apple computer in his garage. This shows how determined he was when it came to being successful. He could do what he needed to do to start his company in his own garage. Steve was committed to making the perfect products. Jobs had some negative personality traits, but his will and determination overpowered those traits and caused him to be successful. When he was a kid his parents bought a house that was designed by the architect, Joseph Eichler. Later in his life, Steve said the design of the home inspired him to make well designed products for his company. Steve also said, “Eichler brought clean design and simple taste to lower-income people.” He wasn’t trying to just grow his company like every other technology company, he was trying to change the way people communicate, work, and live their lives.
