Stem Cell is a cell that helps develop into different cell types. Also they serve as a sort of internal repair system. When the stem cells divides, each new cells have the choice to stay as a stem cells or become another type of cells with a more specialized function. If they become different cells they can be muscle cells, a red blood cells, or a brain cells. The stem cells are capable of renewing themselves through cell division after long period of inactivity.
Stem cells have 3 general properties they are capable of dividing the cells and renewing it for a long periods of time. They are also unspecialized and can give rise to specialized type of cells. They are also a lot of use or importance of stem cells. Stem cells form the bloodstream which are called peripheral blood stem cells and umbilical cord stem cells have been used to treat some of the same blood based diseases. They use stem cells to treat the diseases such as replace neurons damaged by spinal cord injury, stroke, alzheimer’s diseases, parkinson’s disease or other neurological problems.
