Götter, Friedrich Wilhelm (gėt’ter). A German poet; born in Gotha, Sept. 3, 1746; died there, March 18, 1797. ‘Media,’ a drama, a volume of collected ‘Poems,’ and numerous comedies and minor pieces, represent his best efforts. He was the last German poet to use French models largely.
