Sheena obtains cash from an ATM machine. She suspects that the rate at
which she spends the cash is affected by the amount of cash she withdrew
at her previous visit to an ATM. To investigate this she deliberately varies
the amount she withdraws. She records for her each visit to an ATM, the
amount "x"(in $) withdrawn and the number of hours "y" until her next
visit to an ATM.

Prices of diamonds are determined by what is known as the 4 Cs: cut, clarity, color, and carat weight. The prices of diamonds go up as the carat weight increases, but the increase is not smooth. For example, the difference between the size of a 0.99-carat diamond and a 1-carat diamond is undetectable to the naked human eye, but the price of a 1-carat diamond tends to be much higher than the price of a 0.99 diamond. In this question, we use two random samples of diamonds, 0.99 carats and 1 carat, each sample of size 23, and compare the average prices of the diamonds. In order to be able to compare equivalent units, we first divide the price for each diamond by 100 times its weight in carats. That is, for a 0.99-carat diamond, we divide the price by 99. For a 1 carat diamond, we divide the price by 100. The distributions and some sample statistics are shown below

I only need D and E answered, please! When Alan is walking his dog, he believes that as he increases his speed, his dog’s heart rate will increase. Since Alan took Statistics at High School and is now a veterinary medicine major at THE Ohio State University, he wants to model this relationship. Alan records his dog’s heart rate in beats per minute (bpm), while walking at each of 7 different speeds, in miles per hour (mph). A scatter plot and regression output are shown below (attached in image): d. Is there sufficient evidence to conclude that there is a relationship between speed and pulse? Explain. e. Alan wants to provide a 98% confidence interval for the slope parameter in his report to his professor at THE Ohio State University. Compute the margin of error that Alan should use. Assume that conditions for inference are satisfied.arrow_forward

The outbound journey took 2.5 hours on an fast train, but the return journey on the same route took 4 hours. If the train averaged 80 mph for the return journey, what was the average speed of the outbound journey? 50 mph 98 mph 100 mph 128 mpharrow_forwardSarah was calculating the speeds (mph) of vehicles travelling down Maple Street on two separate days at 9 am for an hour.
