Introduction:

The autonomic nervous system (ANS) majorly controls the involuntary type of functions of the body like heart rate, respiratory rate, and digestion. ANS is made up of sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). The SNS has a role in the fight-or-flight response, while the PNS is involved in the ‘rest and digest’ responses.
