According to the Young-Helmholtz theory of color vision, humans have cell
receptors called "cones" in their retina that have peak sensitivities in the Red, Green
and Blue wavelength ranges.
When light reflects off a surface, we perceive the color or colors that are
reflected; other colors are absorbed by the material.
