Chapter 6.8, Problem 25ELO
Summary Introduction
To determine:
- The importance of prions and viroids.
- The diseases caused by them.
Introduction:
Viruses were thought to be the smallest infectious particles until a few decades ago. However, with the discovery of prions and viroids, this belief has been shattered. Prions are proteinaceous particles while viroids comprise of naked RNA strands. These two agents are much smaller than viruses and capable of causing diseases.
