Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Center of mass of an object is defined as the point at which the sum of weighted relative position of the distributed mass is zero. If the force is applied at this point, only then the linear acceleration will be present. It is the mean location of a distribution of mass in space.
Center of mass of a textbook is at the center of the book. The center of body can be found by suspending an object in air. Suspend the book by a string at corner and draw a line along it. Repeat the procedure for other two corners. The point where line cross each other is the center of mass of the book.
