Tossing Coins for a Dollar
For this assignment you will create a game program using the Coin class from
When the game begins, your starting balance is $0. During each round of the game, the program will toss the simulated coins. When a coin is tossed, the value of the coin is added to your balance if it lands heads-up. For example, if the quarter lands heads-up, 25 cents is added to your balance. Nothing is added to your balance for coins that land tails-up. The game is over when your balance reaches one dollar or more. If your balance is exactly one dollar, you win the game. You lose if your balance exceeds one dollar.

- Cargo Ships This question involves cargo ships that carry a specific number of cargo containers. Each ship has a maximum number of cargo containers that it can hold and a current number of cargo containers that it is holding. You can see more details in the Ship class that is provided for you. Part A For part A, you will be completing the nextToUnload() method. This takes no input and returns a Ship from the ships instance variable that has the highest percentage of its cargo hold filled (as measured by current hold / capacity). If two ships have the same percentage, then it should return the first ship with that percentage. If all of the ships in the ships array are empty (ie. no cargo), the method should return null. Part B For part B, you will complete the two unloadShip methods. The first method takes a Ship object and unloads all of the cargo from that ship. The second method takes a Ship and an int and unloads the specified number of containers from the ship. If the number of…arrow_forwardGame Description: Pig is a game that has two players (in our case one human and one computer) that alternate turns. Each player’s goal is to get 100 points rolled on a normal six-sided die first. Each turn consists of the rolling the die repeatedly until you get a 1 or decide to stop. As long as you roll a 2-6, you will add this amount to your total for that turn. But if you roll a 1 during your turn, your turn ends and you receive zero points for that entire turn (erasing all of the progress you made since you last agreed to stop). If you decide to stop rolling at any point in your turn, your points for that turn are then added to the overall score. The overall score is then safe from future rolls. The trick is knowing how long to push it before we should stop and save our gains. See end of this document for an example of a game of pig we should write coding as below In order to explore what is the best strategy for the computer player (i.e. at what score do we stop each computer…arrow_forwardVisual Basic For tax purposes an item may be depreciated over a period of several years, n.With the straight line method of depreciation, each year the item depreciates by 1/nth of itsoriginal value. The game is played on a varying size grid board. The player controls a spider. The spider, being a fast creature, moves in the pattern that emulates a knight from the game of chess. There is also an ant that slowly moves across the board, taking steps of one square in one of the eight directions. The spider's goal is to eat the ant by entering the square it currently occupies, at which point another ant begins moving across the board from a random starting location. Game Definition: The above Figure illustrates the game. The yellow box shows the location of the spider. The green box is the current location of the ant. The blue boxes are the possible moves the spider could make. The red arrow shows the direction that the ant is moving - which, in this case, is the horizontal X-direction. When the ant is eaten, a new ant is randomly placed on one of the…arrow_forwardPython In this assignment, a game called treasure hunt will be written object oriented. There are 3 types of treasures in the game. Diamond, Emerald and Gold. Diamond is 100 points, Emerald 70 points and Gold is 50 points. There are thieves in the game that will prevent you from hunting for treasure. Encountering a thief they steal some of your treasure. You will randomly generate which thief will steal from which treasure and how much.At the beginning of the game, the player has no treasure. X, Y, Z and H will be randomly identified at the start of the game. Define X Diamonds, a random number between X -> 100-200.Let a random number be defined between Y Emerald Y -> 100-200.Define a random number between Z Gold Z -> 100-200.You will define H thieves. Let it be defined between H -> 5-20. - Monty Hall Problem – Coding Lab In this lab, you will write a code that simulates the Monty Hall Game Show. Thegame host gives the participant the choice of selecting one of three doors. Twodoors has a goat behind them and one door has a prize. The set of choices arerandomized each round. The participant needs to select the door with the prizebehind it. When the participant selects a door, the game host reveals a door with agoat behind it. The game host opens a door (different from the one selected by theparticipant) that has a goat behind it. The participant is then given the option tochange their choice. When you run your code, the code would display a message prompting the user toinput their door choice, labelled as 1, 2, and 3. Then the code will display a doornumber (different from the one the user picked) with a goat behind it and ask theuser if they would like to change their choice. The code then displays a message onwhether the user guessed the correct door. A game cell should have the following properties: a.Its row and column. These should initially be set to -1. b.Its visited boolean value. This should initially be set to false. c.Live boolean value. This should initially be set to false. "Live" set to true will indicate that the cell is a "live bomb" cell. d.The number of neighbors that are "live." This should initially be set to 0. The Cell class should have a constructor, as well as getters and setters for all properties. 3.Create a class that models a game board. A game board should have the following properties: a.Size. The board will be square, where the size includes the dimensions of both the length and width of the board. b.Grid. The grid will be a 2-dimensional array of the type cell. c.Difficulty. A percentage of cells that will be set to "live" status. 4.The Board…arrow_forwardExercises: PolymorphismProblem 1. - Exercise 6 - Loaded Coin Simulation Make a new class in the Lab2 project called LoadedCoinSim that simulates the toss of a loaded coin. A coin is loaded when it is constructed such that it is more likely to land on one value than another. Assume the probability the coin will land head is HEAD_PROB, and declare that as a constant in your program. Initially, use a value of 0.75, which means 75% chance the coin will show heads. Given this probability, simulate ten coin tosses and displaying the result. At the end, display the number of times the coin showed heads. The output should appear like this: Toss 1: HEADS Toss 2: HEADS Toss 3: HEADS Toss 4: TAILS Toss 5: HEADS Toss 6: HEADS Toss 7: HEADS Toss 8: HEADS Toss 9: TAILS Toss 10: HEADS Number of heads = 8arrow_forwardJava Programming Travel Tickets Company sells tickets for airlines, tours, and other travel-related services. Because ticket agents frequently mistype long ticket numbers, Travel Tickets has asked you to write an application that indicates invalid ticket number entries. The class prompts a ticket agent to enter a six-digit ticket number. Ticket numbers are designed so that if you drop the last digit of the number, then divide the number by 7, the remainder of the division will be identical to the last dropped digit. This process is illustrated in the following example: Step 1. Enter the ticket number; for example, 123454. Step 2. Remove the last digit, leaving 12345. Step 3. Determine the remainder when the ticket number is divided by 7. In this case, 12345 divided by 7 leaves a remainder of 4. Step 4. Assign the Boolean value of the comparison between the remainder and the digit dropped from the ticket number. Step 5. Display the result—true or false—in a message box. The program should have two Java classes: one for a single die and another for a pair of dice. Assignment Details: User Input: Ask the user to specify the number of sides they want on each die. Ensure that the user's input is within a reasonable range. Dice Rolling: Simulate rolling the dice using Math.random() based on the user's chosen number of sides. Display the sum of the values rolled, e.g., "5 + 3 = 8." Special Combinations: If the dice roll results in combinations of 2, 7, or 12, print special messages: "1 + 1 = 2 snake eyes!" "3 + 4 = 7 craps!" "6 + 6 = 12 box cars!" Main Method: In the main method, create a pair of dice, roll them, and display the results. Allow the user to decide whether to continue rolling the dice or exit the program. Additional Features: You are welcome to add more features or enhancements to the program if desired.
