Since the café is located near the Courthouse district and located on a busy corner lot with only one another Café two blocks away, it has a tremendous competitive advantage. We will utilize the differential advantage strategy in moving forward to offer new services and products to our existing and new customers, which we feel that will be beneficial in making this transition. Part 2 Developing an EBusiness Strategy There is an emerging ebusiness market that Broadway Café has to catch up with and in doing so, it will begin by first creating an assessment and assembling a team of employees, who may have the knowledge (cost saving method) to draft ideas and present for final review. The ebusiness model as defined by Baltzan (2009), indicated that it is an approach to conducting electronic business on the internet. Therefore, by launching an e-business, Broadway Café will have an opportunity to leverage it current assets, its customers. To follow in this opportunity will be the employees, technology infrastructure, and information to gain and maintain market share. Broadway Café will be able to offer customers electronic payments for products or services, employees will have an opportunity to enter a code to identifying signing in and out procedures for time clocks and transactions. Broadway Café customers will no longer have to place orders via the phone;
The Broadway Café can use this as a personal advantage because there is no threat of rivalry among existing competitors because their not any.
By seeking after an engaged separation procedure, advancing the one of a kind, built up menu things that just the Broadway bistro brings to the table, the business will moderate the impediments displayed by the eatery organizations' high rivalry, new participants, and purchaser power. Learning, Customer Relationship, and Business Intelligence administration frameworks will add to all parts of the business, with a site and free Wi-Fi upgrading the business' administrations and expand its deceivability.
Currently, The Broadway Café is the only coffee shop in the area. However, recently, there have been postings that a Starbucks plans to move within the vicinity of our business. To improve the business and create a competitive advantage, we must first, research the competition through environment scanning (Baltzan & Phillips, 2007). Environmental scanning is the acquisition and analysis of events and trends in the environment external to an organization (Baltzan & Phillips, 2007). After reviewing the website of two competitors, Starbucks.com (2010) and Panera.com (2010), it appears these businesses are technologically advanced. The first step this Café must make is to install computers to provide accurate record keeping and store information. We have to develop a plan for employees that create an environment of respect and dignity in which leads by example and gives back to
This goes back to CRM and product differentiation and as well as maintaining that low-cost pricing. 5. Rivalry among existing customers: High Ever notice that whenever McDonald’s or Tim Hortons produce a new product, the other competitors also follow? That simply implies that there is definitely a tough competition out there for Cafes. Not only that, it’s not just Cafe shops Broadway Cafe has to be worried about, think about gas stations and other restaurants (such as Steak and Stein) that offer the same products.
Being that Broadway Café has been in business sine 1952 I feel as though the company already is at an advantage as compared to any possible competition. There is already a first- mover advantage being that the business is the first of its kind in the area, so they are familiar with the type market. Thus, a competitive advantage is also present. Broadway Café does not need to research the market, figure out their niche, or even what the average consumer likes because they already know ( or have an idea) of what their target market enjoys.

E-business is relativity new and refers how companies do business on the internet. PC Magazine defines Electronic Business as “Doing Business online. Electronic commerce (e-commerce) involves online transactions and the trading of goods and services through the Internet, without time and geographical barriers (Network Solutions, 2014). This could include retail sites, large online music stores such as iTunes or business to business (B2B) transactions between companies.
