The United Nation’s convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) categorically states that anyone under the age of 18 is defined as a child with an exception, ‘under the law applicable to the child, the majority is attained’ (NSPCC, 2018).
Children rights is a huge factor which doesn’t just affect just our society but in fact the entire world and there are constant cases of children rights being breached and abused. This needs to come to a stop as this is a horrific chapter in children’s lives which can leave them in such horrible states and possibly loss of life. I have chosen child trafficking because it is in my opinion the most horrific crime that is unfortunately committed across the world and is constantly ongoing and as corrupt, disgusting and inhumane as it is we remain to have large groups of children deal with this lifestyle all their lives (Children's Rights, 2013).
Worldwide statistics reveal that each year around 150 million girls and 73 million boys are victims of sexual abuse, (WHO, 2018). Human trafficking is without doubt part of the statistic which causes unspeakable abuse on children and it is driven by profit from criminal business that stacks in a lot of profit reaching almost billion dollars. One of the countries that have a huge problem with child abuse is Thailand. In 2004, studies suggest that over eight hundred thousand child prostitutes in Thailand are under the age of sixteen.
