Persuasive Essay On Child Trafficking

Human trafficking is one of the many faces of organized crime. Human trafficking is a broad term which contains trafficking for the purpose of sex along with the exploitation of labor. Currently, there are 20.9 million victims of sex slavery (Stacy.j.cecchet 2014 482) whom have or are suffering suffer inhumane circumstances and consequences. Sex trafficking is one of the largest criminal activities in the world (Stacy 249). Vulnerable women and children are taken advantage of and thrown into sex slavery, yet there is no explanation available as to how women and children are taken and thrown into the industry within countries such as Canada and the United States of America (482 Stacy j Cecchet 2014), which have human rights protection. Sex slavery leaves everlasting mental and physical effects on the abused women and children being trafficked. Even though sex trafficking is a crime it is also, for a lack of better words, an industry which would cease to exist if it was not for the supply and demand for women and children.

As extensive humans being have been on earth, there has been some method of awfulness present. Have you ever felt alone with nobody there to help you? Have you ever felt the pressure to preform or face getting beat or threatened to be killed? This is a life that people all around the world have to face because of human trafficking. Different types of human cruelty include parental and spousal abuse, genocide, racial discrimination, and bullying. These are all techniques of mistreatment that stand out in one’s mind. However, there is one type of mistreatment that people may forget is human trafficking. Human trafficking is a horrible association where victims are controlled and abused by others. This type of growing business of trafficking has become a difficulty that concerns practically each country in the world. Some countries are making changes though it has seen small to no achievement. The craving for people to kidnap innocent people and put them in exertion for their own revenue needs to be put to end. Human trafficking is problematic because of the manner it destroys innocent people and the demand for such trafficking to be a force it produces a huge problem that needs to become a top priority for governments around the world. Trafficking innocent people is a criminal industry that revenues from enslaving people for sexual servitude and forced labor. There is absence of resources towards this matter that makes defined statistics almost difficult to gather. Human trafficking has a massive absence of awareness. Without funding for human trafficking makes working towards a solution very difficult. Without correct funds to place an end towards human trafficking. This demonstrate that there are many methods to get into the trafficking business and that people should be conscious that there are individuals out there that will take a harmless person.

It can be by their father, mother, brother, or sister. It can be forced upon them by people who have come into their life claiming they can make it better. When in reality it just makes it worse. They have no idea what they are getting into and what is going to happen to them. They are fed with lies and false pretentions of what is going to happen. They are caught in a trap that is hard to get out of. Often they are to scared to try to run or be rescued. They just do what they are told so that they live or so their loved ones live.

Everyday children under the age of 18 are maltreated. One out of eight children throughout the U.S suffers from either physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. Unfortunately, emotional abuse is not even considered a maltreatment when people think of child abuse. When people think of child abuse the first thing they think about is physical or sexual. Now do not get me wrong, any abuse a child receives is a horrible inhuman like thing because every child is innocent and deserves to live the best life they possibly can live. Although, if we are being quite honest with ourselves nobody really notices this happens until it is mentioned later on when the child gets older. Which I do not blame anyone for because a child does not recall if something is good or bad until they have the ability to be aware of their environment.This is due to the fact that child abuse can start occurring at such an early age. This happens most during the development stage of the child because when a child is young it starts to absorb everything it sees and hears based on their surroundings. Basically, when they start noticing the difference from good or bad. The problem in this situation is that there is a high percentage rate of the youth who are diagnosed with mental disorders and are not being helped properly because most of the time the adults around them do not know how to help. A woman and her child decided to go out for a small date. She is shopping around and all of the sudden she feels herself being pulled away with her daughter. Her and her child are in a dark van not knowing where she is going. When she arrives at the location you are forced to do unimaginable things, the child included. Now this may not be a reality for you, however this has been for over 20.9 million people. That is people 800,000 a year (Do something Para 5).Young girls are especially targets right now. Not many people are aware of this horrible business but today I plan to make you aware of the horrors of sex trafficking. Sex trafficking needs to be stopped because it has a negative effect on people in the society.

After thinking about a research topic for a long and hard time I decided to choose sex trafficking. The problem with sex trafficking is that it happens more than what we are aware of! Yet we do not raise any awareness for it. My question to schools, local communities, health workers and local governments is, "Why can we not raise more awareness sex trafficking wise?" As a future educator, I want my students to be aware of this harsh and cruel world. Human trafficking is a modern-day form of slavery! This modern form of slavery is not for labor but for sexual desires. Do you see why I do not understand making rape very aware in public. Yet, we do not do the same about sex trafficking?

According to the 2015 child maltreatment report,” almost 7.2 million children were involved in some sort of abuse whether mental, emotional, physical or sexual and 75.3% of victims are neglected” (americanspcc.org). You’ve seen the news reports of children being neglected whether it’s a parent who forgets their child was in the car and locks them in on a hot summer day roasting their child’s little life away, or the parent who beats their child to their death, or the parent who is suffering an addiction and doesn’t provide the proper quality of life and care to their child or children that they are taken away by the state only to be dumped into the foster care system. Sex trafficking is becoming more and more of a problem as time moves on. Sex trafficking is the recruitment, harbouring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act, in which the commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion [Internet Safety 101]. Sex trafficking is increasing due to the evolution of modern day social services and sources. From safety sources, it is the 2nd fastest growing criminal industry [Internet Safety 101]. More and more sex trafficking is coming about due to the evolution of the internet and the improved ability of gps tracking. Human trafficking is a serious problem in modern society. In fact, the United Nations has referred to it as “one of the gravest human rights violations of our times” (“Secretary - General Calls Human Trafficking”). It is a fast growing industry that affects millions. No gender, age, or status is spared from the cruelty that is trafficking. To stress this point again, human trafficking is not just a problem of the “world” or “United States”, in general. As previously seen, it strikes very close to home, affecting hundreds of men, women, and children of our own community.
