Should phones be allowed in school? Many people argue a lot about this. In many schools there is a controversy about this. Some people think that it is a good thing to have phones in school, while others´ do not. Many teenagers have cell phones nowadays. About 78% of teenagers aged 12 to 17 have cell phones. Technology has a great impact on teens. They have good ways in which teens can enjoy them, but also they have bad ways. Many adults worry about the bad things that technology can do to the youth. They worry that the youth might get to addicted to phones. Adults also worry about how it can damage their brains. Many researchers are saying that teenagers are getting to addicted to phones. One of the symptoms of this is by texting all day, and by also feeling the need to check your phone everyday. However In my paragraph, I strongly go for phones not being allowed in school. One reason of why phones should not be allowed in school is because it causes too many distractions in class. Some children tend to forget to turn their phones of in class. Sometimes, theirs phone might ring, which causes the whole class to lose their concentration. They can also get in trouble for not following the rules. Students many sometimes use theirs phones to text during class time. They might text their friends or anybody else. For example, Snapchat. Snapchat is one of the most used world wide media in the world. Lots of children have those nowadays. Instagram Facebook, and Twitter are also some of the things that these teens use to text during class. Games cause distractions also. Many girls and boys play games in class instead of doing their work. That can cause their grades to fall dramatically. Cheating in class is one of the main things that children like to do in class. They often use it for things like the calculator. On a test, a calculator cannot be used because the test is to prove how much a person has learned in class. Cheating is why many people want to boycott phones. Some teenagers can also use the Internet look up the answers. This is not helpful. A child must learn and keep their learning in their memories; however, cheating is not helping them at all. They do not learn anything, and they will not pass their
Do you want kids to post pictures of teachers online? Do you want kids to text their mom to come get them? Do you want kids to take their phones to the bathroom? The answer is no. Phones should not be allowed in 10th period because of social media, taking advantage of using it anywhere , and texting.
Most schools do not allow the use of cell phones in school or in class, so the school feels like changing their policy of cell phone use might be a bad idea. Students could take advantage or miss use the privilege of phones in class. There will always be students who act out in class, but the school must discipline those who do and reward those who do not.
Cell phones are distracting in school and disrupt learning. Students should always be giving their teacher their undivided attention. Cell phones in school create problems and they affect students’ grades. Although some may claim these reasons to be true, they are undeniably wrong. The proponents of cell phones should not be allowed in school argue, “We know for a fact that the use of cell phones on school property around the country has led to a number of problems around safety.” This is wrong because cell phone use on school grounds is only beneficial to individuals on and off school property. Cell phones do not necessarily prevent problems, but they do help in times of emergencies. They promote safety in situations such as school shootings or hostage situations. The proponents of cell phones should not be allowed in school also argue “Student’s whose minds wander during a lecture or discussion may find the temptation of texting instead of listening hard to resist.” While this is true, it is up to the student to pay attention. However, texting instead of listening is the same as doodling and not listening, or playing on a school issued laptop even after being told to put it away. It is up to the student to restrain from texting in class. The more schools put an emphasis on no phones in school the more
Imagine a school in which cell phones were not allowed on campus. How would the children contact their parents in the case of an emergency? Perhaps more importantly, how would this affect a child's ability to learn, and their access to knowledge? In an ever changing world most schools have adapted to use technology to their advantage. Whether this be strict times when cell phones are allowed, or more generalized rules, the schools today are able to shape these new devices in their favor. This movement, however, is looked at by some to be a terrible decision, and a hazard to children's growth in the school environment. This essay will go over the three main reasons why cell phones should be allowed and encouraged inside of the school building. The first reason why schools should allow cell phones is because parents need easy contact with their children in all situations. The second reason to allow cell phones is because they improve the learning environment and provide a digital knowledge database. The final reason to allow phones in a school setting is because they can give schools financial and educational freedom opportunities that were never possible before. Cell phones are amazing tools, and schools have all the power in the world to utilize them to their full potential.
Are you always on your phone? Either Snapchatting, on Instagram, scrolling through your twitter feed? It can be pretty temping to pick up your phone and do this stuff in class but you can use them in good ways in school. George Washington Middle School currently has cell phones banned in class. Although most teachers think that cell phones are a distraction, cell phones should be allowed in class because students feel anxious without their phones, there are many educational uses, and allowing phones is more convenient.
Thirdly, cell phones are just another item, and banning them makes them more irresistible to people, especially teenagers. "As a student, I understand that cell phones are distracting while a teacher is trying to help the students--but at the same time, I believe they become even more distracting to the class as a WHOLE when teachers make a huge deal out of trying to take a phone away or punish a student for having a phone out."(Answer.yahoo.com-2009)Cell phones could be one of the 5 distractions-talking, playing, throwing, devices, and physical actions. With cell phones you're making less distraction to the class because you’re not disturbing anyone but yourself and that’s a good
I think cell phones should be aloud at school because of emergencies and when you need to get ahold of someone you have a cell phone. They can be used for certain things in school and they could be able to use them for looking up things. When something happens to you, you can contact your parents. Many teachers and adults don’t think cellphones should not be allowed in school because of the distraction they cause. Although people believe students shouldn’t be able to use their phones in classrooms, cell phones should be allowed because music helps students concentrate when working, also they could be used for research purposes, and lastly students could use their phones to communicate with parents, and others.
Kds should not have cell phones in school because it can damage their brain and have them get dizzy and faint.
Anybody having their belongings confiscated can feel a multitude of emotions from annoyed, enraged, disrespected, etc. But is this allowed, and does it follow the constitutional right to be protected from unreasonable search and seizure. Does this affect individuals when it comes to places such as school where administration is held responsible for the children? Even in these specific circumstances no one is legally allowed to search the through the contents of anyone’s phone, so privacy is still respected and reward by the judicial system as constitutional.
To start, cell phone usage in a learning atmosphere is a popular distraction to the modern student. In today’s society, students are more likely to remember the information sent via text message rather than focusing on classroom studies. It appears that the age a child receives their first cell phone is becoming younger and younger. Technology has taken over children by making their social life a higher priority than their education. The popular excuse of needing cell phones in school for safety reasons is a complete fallacy. Although some people may feel this way, it does not mean that all students should have to have access to their phone for safety, especially with enough supervisors or staff around. Regulating cell phone use in school settings is something that should be considered by all.
Students should not be able to use their cell phones during school hours is because they are a distraction. Students can not comprehend if they are texting during class. They will be on games, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. For example, a student's cell phone just beeped. The cell phone has just distracted the other students. Cell phones are not only distracting to students, they are distracting to teachers. The teacher has to stop teaching and wait for the student to turn of his/her phone. Another way that cell phones can be a distraction is that most students like to watch videos on their cell phones while the teacher is teaching. For example,
There are at least 6.8 billion people in the world that have phones, surprising right. Did you also know Motorola was the first company to produce the first hand-held mobile phone. It was released on April 3, 1973. The executive was named Martin Cooper. Parents believe that cell phones should not be allowed to be used during class. The reasons are that they might cheat on the test that they might be working on. The second reason is that students might use their phones in an inappropriate way. The third reason is that if students do use their phones in class, then they might not be doing their work. Many people think that having phones in class is good for students and very useful. Other people think students should not have phones out during school hours. The reason is that sometimes the teacher lets his/her students to use their phones ''ONLY'' for help with their work. Other students just might make a teacher believe that they are using their phones for work. In reality, those student are just on their phone doing other things that is not what the teacher allowed the student to do. Over all, students should not be allowed to use their phones out during school hours.

Students shouldn't have cell phones. I don't think any student should have the ability to be able to use cell phones in school because they can cause distractions. In one of the articles I read the author says “A couple ways cell phones may cause distractions is people can play games on the phone, watch videos, and make phone calls. Over 87% of people play games and watch videos during school hours.” “Other reasons people shouldn't be allowed to have cell phones in school is
