Introduction:
The respiratory system extends from the nose to the alveoli of the lungs. The nose forms the part of the upper respiratory tract and is present in the face region. The nose is made of bone and hyaline cartilage. The anterior opening of the nose is called as nostril whereas the posterior opening of the nose is called as conchae. The inner region is formed by the nasal cavity that separates into right and left halves known as nasal fossae. The functions of the nose are humidification of the air, amplification of sounds, and detection of odors.
