Chapter 54.3, Problem 2SB
Summary Introduction
To review:
The processes that move large quantities of carbon from organic compartment to inorganic compartment.
Introduction:
Nutrient cycles or biogeochemical cycles can be defined as a pathway taken by the nutrients as they move from their major sources in the abiotic parts of the ecosystem. These sources are called reservoirs of the nutrient. This movement is completed through living communities and then back to the reservoir. The carbon cycle is one of such important nutrient cycles. Carbon forms the backbone of living organisms and many biological molecules; thus, it plays an important role in the ecosystem.
