Apple Inc. was founded on April 1, 1976 in Cupertino, CA and was incorporated on January 3, 1977 (Apple, 2010). The company was founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Jobs also asked his former colleague from Atari, Ronald Wayne to join them in their startup. Wayne designed the first Apple logo. In early 1976 Jobs approached a local company store, The Byte Shop, said they would be interested in the machine, but only if it came completely assembled (Foljanty, 2010). Steve Jobs announced the release of the iPad on January 27, 2010 at a press conference in San Francisco (Apple Inc., 2010). The iPad is a revolutionary device that can be use to browse the web, reading and sending e-mails, looking at photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, and reading e-books just to name a few of the capabilities (Apple Inc., 2010). Once the iPad was released in April 2010 it sold 3 million devices in 80 days in the US (Apple Inc., 2010) Apple current uses Ernst & Young LLP as their audit firm.
