being at the right place at the right time is the first and often times the most fundamental action a Soldier will partake in, when performing his everyday as well as war time duties. A soldier cannot exceed in the United States army if he or she is constantly late and at the wrong place. A soldier who truly wants to succeed in the military must go out of his or her way to stay squared away on his or her place of duty. This concept goes for any person in any career. This is the most simple and most important aspect of being a soldier. If a soldier goes above and beyond in just about everything he or she does but is not on time and punctual than or she has failed at carrying out his or her orders. 3. PUNCTUALITY: Scheduling the work day is one of the most important duties any leader in the Army or the Armed Forces for that matter, tackle each and every day. Being at the right place at the right time for any member of the Armed forces is extremely essential to the defense of the entire United States of America. It's because of this that being on time is remarkably important. Dependability, accountability, consistency and discipline are all crucially related to being on time. Furthermore, promptness also shows that the individual Soldier aims high and has their priorities straight. However, being where one needs to be at the appointed time will always be one of the most important aspects of being a Soldier. This is why failure to be on
If I don 't follow orders while in a combat zone this makes me combat ineffective and if I’m combat ineffective in my unit it slows down the progress of winning and also breaks my leaders concentration on the task in hand. If I executes the order quickly and to standard that tremendously help with the effectiveness of the unit, even if they don 't know it because every single soldier is vital to winning the fight. If I’m not able to follow orders and execute them effectively and to standard that will strengthen the unit and increase the moral of the unit by making it to where the leadership doesn 't have to worry about if I am going to do that right are not, this relieves tension from the leaders and other members in the
For example, if I had not been in my room when I was on quarters, and a fire had erupted in the barracks, I would now be putting my battle buddies or superiors trying to locate me at an extreme and unnecessary risk, especially if they were unable to contact me by phone or if I had not contacted the chain of command. With communication, punctuality and being at your prescribed place of duty all being essential facets of military life and having a direct correlation to the soldierly appearance and combat readiness of a unit, these kinds of faults and mistakes cannot be allowed to permeate our disciplined ranks and taint the effectiveness of our unit . Without punctuality, and therefore discipline there can be no effectiveness or efficiency in our mission of protecting our own and destroying our enemies. If we cannot efficiently destroy the enemy we are no longer an effective or worthwhile unit in the Army.
The importance of accountability, are being on time and in the right uniform. The main reason we have formations and that we are trying to keep account of personnel to know where everybody is at, at all times. I have learned in the past years that I have been in that being on time is the most important thing that you need to do. For one the accountability of personnel is major, it plays a big role in the deployment and the readiness of soldiers. I would have to say that I was wrong for not showing up at my appointed place of duty I should have gotten up and made it to the swimming pool. But in all things that have been done I have seen that accountability is the most important asset here for

Also you want to use this duty in your personal life. It shows people that youre very dependable. This is not only a quality we use as soldiers, but as civilans as well. Being late is not only unacceptable in the army, but it is unacceptable anywhere. This should be the easiest task of being a soldier. The army has several ways to correct this issue if it is a continuous problem. You can recieve a negative counseling statement, Article-15 or even a Court Martial and discharged from military service. Plus, with an Article-15 you
For example you are told to be at work at 0900 work call, you are supposed to be there at 0850. But, you may ask, how does me not being at 0630 formation on Fort Hood for PT put other people’s lives in danger? Well, it doesn’t. But, making being on time, or even a bit early, a habit can help when you eventually do end up down range and you need to be on time for a mission. Civilians are also expected to be at their right place at the right time. The only difference is being on time is on time in the civilian world. If work is at 10:00 then as long as it’s not 10:01, then you are in the clear. Showing people you can be on time not only shows you have discipline, but you respect for your superior leaders. Punctuality shows that you are responsible, trustworthy and can follow directions. Punctuality isn't just an order that the Army requires, but also a good personal trait that is a reflection of a person’s character, it shows that you have personal integrity and self-discipline. While some of us are occasionally late due to circumstances beyond our control, habitual tardiness shows a lack of respect for other people and their time. If someone is late continually that shows that they more than likely do not care about what their NCO tells them. Nobody wants to depend on a person that can’t even simply show up for a formation that is held every day at the same time and place. In basic accountability and being on time was strongly instilled in us
Accountability is very important in the Army. Accountability is taking responsibility for your actions and your items. By meaning what you say, saying what you mean, and doing what you say, when you say you will do it. By keeping track of all my items and equipment I can always be ready for anything that is needed of me by my country, my superiors, or other servicemen. Being accountable means being dependable. Where my country, my superiors and fellow servicemen can count on me in any situation. to know I will be there to do what is necessary. Taking responsibility for your own actions and equipment is what keeps things running smoothly. And keeps things from turning into utter chaos. Being in
When it comes to the military certain things are automatically expected of a person. One of the most important expectations is time management and being on time. Every day there are any number of places a soldier is required to be at a certain time and as the old saying goes, “if you’re not fifteen minutes early, you’re late no matter the situation.” Some soldiers understand the importance of showing up fifteen minutes prior to an event or scheduled activity. To others, it makes no sense at all. Extreme as it may sound, when dealing with the number of people that
Punctuality is a very important part of military life for several reasons. one reason is that if someone is late for a patrol or convoy that patrol or convoy might haveto leave without that person. Another reason is because it will make whoever your relieving have to stay at work for longer than they are supposed to, tired and sluggish because of that fact, giving a high chance that whatever work that person does would be sub par and not up to standards because of lack of sleep. Punctuality also shows your chain of command that you are serious about your job and are ready and motivated to do said job to the best of your ability.

These values define what it means to serve in the United States Army, as well as being a responsible citizen. During my time spent in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, I learned the importance of attention to detail. Every morning I woke up at 04:30 and made my bed and changed into the proper uniform set for that day. The daily routine was taken one step at a time. We were taught that if you can accomplish your first task of making your bed, then you can complete the following task, and so on. By the end of the process new soldiers hold their heads high and carry themselves with confidence and pride. These are the marks BCT leaves on new recruits. Because of the experience I gained and the discipline I maintained, I have transitioned into adulthood by taking responsibility for my
The concept that I believe to be the most important to me is the Discipline Model. The reason the Discipline Model is important to me is that it works on many levels and can actually help to keep a troubled Airmen away from poor decisions that could destroy their carrier. From Course 15 prevention being the first stage states “ setting clear standards, establishing rapport and establishing a climate of accountability”, what these key actions mean to me is being that supervisor who takes the time to understand the Airmen or peers that I am either in charge of or work along with. Being a good troop for my supervisor means that I need to show them I have that accountability and are able to uphold the standards that are given to me.
Life of a soldier is run by strict set of rules that every soldier is compelled to follow right from the beginning of their army training. Some of the most important maxims of army life include, being punctual, always prepared and of course, being able to manage your time in an effective manner. These maxims are strictly followed in the army and if a soldier fails to meet anyone of these maxims then he or she can be punished according to the American military’s Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). However, these qualities are respected in a man regardless of their profession in life. Being punctual in your job, prepared for your meeting and managing your time can improve your relations with others and pave way for your success.
