One of the distinguishing features of cystic fibrosis is the thick mucus that lines both the airways and the intestinal tract of affected individuals. In middle school, I had a friend who did not have a lot of materialistic things everyone else had, clothes, shoes or jewelry, a fancy cell phone. Sometimes you would see her wearing the same shirts. A lot of people would say she used to steal from friends or clothing stores or from grocery stores, in general, I would have to say this lesson taught me a lot. You never know what someone is going through.
