Public Speech Outline Antonio Nicolás Rubino Ed.D. This guide includes a brief description of the main parts of the Public Speech Outline. Audience: describe the audience who is going to listen to your speech. Use demographic characteristics, membership to an organization, group affiliations, or some important characteristics that give you a good illustration of whom you are going to speak to. General purpose: establish your purpose. It can be to inform, persuade, commemorate a date, talk about a listener or group, or celebrate a special occasion. Specific purpose: establish specifically what do you want to achieve with your speech. It should include a verb that agrees with your general purpose, describe succinctly the audience, and include the main points of your …show more content…
Remember, subpoints are subordinated and directly related to the main points. Additionally, remember the main points should all support your thesis and, although they are related, each one should stand by itself. Main point #1: short sentence to support your thesis, for example, a statement of a need for action. Sub point # 1.1: support your main point 1. A description of the need (signs, symptoms, and effects). Sub point # 1.2: support your main point 1. Examples and testimony. Sub point # 1.3: support your main point 1. Importance of need (causes, extent of problem, facts/statistics, expert testimony, and who is affected). Main point #2: short sentence presenting a solution that satisfies the need and/or solves the problem. Sub point # 2.1: support your main point 2. Description of the solution. Sub point # 2.2: support your main point 2. How the solution satisfies the need. Sub point # 2.3: support your main point 2. How the solution can be implemented. Welcome to the Furman Playhouse lobby! Prepare for the adventure of a lifetime squeezed into the few minutes before your IF/THEN experience. There is really nothing to it; you will be presented with a situation with some choices. Make that decision, and follow the string attached to your choice, it will lead you to another situation. Just repeat that over, and over and over until well… Spoiler alert we all end up in the same place. But to avoid any existential crises we will just end with “Enjoy the show.” Thank you for choosing to spend your evening/afternoon engaging with IF/THEN.

Specific Purpose: To inform my audience that bullying in schools can lead to many dangers.
Specific: The more specific the goal, the easier it is to attain. For example, if the client’s goal is to be more social, the specific goal of having coffee with one friend each week is easier to check off as an accomplished goal.
In preparation for the speech I have read chapters 1-4 from the book. I have made it a point to familiarize myself with the speech outline given. The easiest for me was reading. The book is quite interesting and is easier to read than my other textbooks. The most challenging is the choice of topic. I have trouble decided what I can pick to have the best effect on my audience. After I don't want to write something I know I haven't put all my thought into. If that were the case I would risk having a dull speech, which isn't fun for anyone.
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the different forms of pain management used during childbirth.
: I can’t remember any things well while I thought something happened to me, I feel like I ever seen something but I don’t know when it was or where it was. And I also feel like I’ve been somewhere but I don’t know when it was. It’s only like I ever do that but I unable to really remember when and how the earlier experience occured in detail.
