Mlomeister has given me a link to this site. One day I am not going to get so angry at these types of things. It’s a fact of life and an age-old issue, one that is almost pointless to fight and refute because it is an incredibly emotional topic and requires a lot time and effort to understand. Not only that, but there are hundreds and hundreds of sites like this, each one gathering information from each other so they’ve created their own religion against religion. Not too many people will delve into the ‘why’s and how’s of things like this, it’s way easier to just nod and shake your fist, close your eyes and form your opinions without doing anything to make sure that your opinions are based on literal fact, on truth. I was definitely, …show more content…
But I can certainly see how others might, when they are twisting and misconstruing information. Here is an example. I wrote, “It’s like saying “all Muslims” are terrorists, when obviously they all aren’t. “ Snip off the last part of that sentence, and suddenly I am someone who just made a really unfair and untrue statement, “All Muslims are terrorists.“ But someone makes a webpage about it, and all of a sudden its “Scarlett Is Anti Muslim” and then that statement has babies and all of a sudden I’m misrepresented. Really easy to do. Here is an example taken from the page that started this whole thing for me: “Death to the Rape Victim (Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB) If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife.” It is clear that God doesn't give a damn about the rape victim. He is only concerned about the violation of another mans "property". That last bit is the author of the webpage’s opinion. ( I did a quick search on this fellows page to see if I could find out his accreditations, not surprisingly there are none. Also not surprising is his unwillingness to respond to his emails that he gets generated from his site. Oh but you can
After immediately reading the article I became a hateful person toward everyone that I believed who could possibly share the view of that article. Yet, I did not stay in such a hateful state. I decided if I continue to feed this rage inside of me I could never be happy. I learned to forgive and not to take the views of others to heart. I forgave and moved on after reading this text that was hateful toward me by realizing people are so unhappy that they will find any excuse to be hateful toward each other. When society decides to generalize people not only Muslims, but also any form of generalization still angers me to an extent. Yet, after that anger passes I learn to forgive those hateful people and to still stand up for those who are discriminated against. If someone were to rebuttal discrimination with discrimination no conflict would be resolved. However, if you chose to forgive their ignorance and try to reason at first or to forgive you can reach a state of peace and
Marriage is supposed to be the unity of two people as partners in an equal relationship. Yet, in the Wife of Bath’s Tale and the Clerk’s Tale, they demonstrate that marriage is an inevitable battle for power and dominance. The Wife of Bath expresses the pain of marriage and that women are the leaders. Whereas, the Clerk believes that women should be obedient to men in a relationship. Despite the two contrasting opinions, both tales are an epitome of the respective points of view.
None of the claims the author makes are really questionable. He back up his claims with quotes from people in the health field. He also does not come up with statistics, so you don't have to worry about him just making up numbers. Overall he did a good job backing up his claims with statements and facts.
A snaffle curbs the fieriest steed, and he who in subjection lives must needs be meek. But this proud girl, in insolence well-schooled, first overstepped the established law, and then-- A second and worse act of insolence-- She boasts and glories in her wickedness. Now if she thus can flout authority unpunished, I am woman, she the man. But though she be my sister 's child or nearer of kin than all who worship at my hearth, nor she nor yet her sister shall escape the utmost penalty, for both I hold, as arch-conspirators, of equal guilt. Bring forth the older; even now I saw her within the palace, frenzied and distraught. The workings of the mind discover oft dark deeds in darkness schemed, before the act. More hateful still the miscreant who seeks when caught, to make a virtue of a crime” (Sophocles 474-496).
I started getting involved with running my senior year of high school. This was a very terrifying time in my life because I was running with people who have been doing this their whole life, which is quite intimidating when you’re new to the process. The reason why I gave running a chance was the constant begging from my younger and older sisters. They both ran and thought this was something I could potentially be marvelous at. I gave running a shot and ended up accomplishing my goal of being on varsity my senior year. Running is something that I’m genuinely passionate about and also something I’m literate in. I use running as my literacy practices whenever I’m at practices, a meet, or for therapeutic reasons.
Humans should not bring back extinct creatures since they can become invasive. If humans brought back a mammoth where would they keep it? Would it become invasive? As we all know, the mammoth was the biggest land mammal to roam the Earth. This makes it very easy for the mammoth to become, or to be invasive. If the mammoth is invasive, it would take up land, use limiting factors in that ecosystem, and possibly harm or kill other animals. This would end in a terrible result. Another example is the Megalania. The Megalania is a reptile (lizard) that went extinct around 30,000 years ago. According to www.list25.com, “Scientific estimates regarding the size of the lizard vary greatly but it probably could have been about 25 feet long which would
Once there was a semi-barbaric king who used his riches to get whatever he and himself wanted. The king decided to make a coliseum the would determine the fate of a criminal accused of committing a crime. After the king had made the laws for his entertainment it was announced to him by a bystander that his lovely daughter that he loved greatly, had fallen in love with someone “unworthy”. The princess loved, the man she loved by knowing he was handsome, strong, and the most brave someone could be. The king had been filled with rage when he heard of it’s knowability. It took the king merely the blink of an eye to order the young man that his daughter swooned over to be sent to prison. A date was set for the man's trial in the king's coliseum. The king had interviewed every worthy woman to marry the prisoner, and choose the maiden the princess had hate with burning passion. The princess had paid the worker to tell her what door the tiger was going to be
A study was published just yesterday featuring our Woolly friend, the Woolly Mammoth, with new findings about its DNA structure and how it was adapted to its artic conditions in the Ice Age. The study was published with cell.com in more scientific detail and elaborates on the differences between the elephants that live today and the ones of yesterday. In 1813 a man by the name of John James Audubon witnessed a beautiful sight. Pigeons filled the skies of Ohio. Men and boys would shoot at the pigeons and the number decreased significantly. In 2003, Spanish and French scientists were focused on a wild goat named the bucardo. When the last bucardo died they tried to clone it, but it died after birth. Scientists have been trying to brink extinct animals back by using the preserved DNA. The most famous attempt is to bring back the Wolly Mammoth by using the preserved DNA found in chunks in Siberia. The use the Mammoth’s DNA and mix it with that of an elephant, the mammoth’s most closest living
