Summary Introduction

To review:

The rate of the reactionin which the rate expressionis given as

Rate = k[A]2[B]1

[A] mM [B]mM Rate (mM/s)
0.1 0.01 1 × 106
0.1 0.02
0.2 0.01
0.2 0.02

Introduction:

The rate of the reaction is referred to as the decrease in the concentration of reactants orincrease in the concentration of products with respect to time. Therefore, it indicates the pace of the reaction at which the reactants are being used up in forming the products. The study of enzyme catalysis in a quantitative manner is termed enzyme kinetics and it is used to determine the rate of a reaction. The rate of a reaction is dependent upon several factors, such as the order of the reaction with respect to reactants, the concentration of the substrate, and the enzyme being used.
